FAQ
What is "refurbished"? And what does it mean in the context of bikes?
Well, for me, it means restoring a product to nearly new condition. So all the crucial parts have been restored and the product can be used fully without any limitations. For bikes that means the following:
1. All parts of a bike that wear with use need to be checked and possibly replaced. This includes ball bearings that can be found in the fork, wheel hubs, and the bottom bracket. But also the whole drivetrain: crankset, rear wheel cogs, derailleur (front and back), and the chain. Also included here are tires, inside and out, brake pads and the saddle.
2. Non-wearing but rust-prone parts, such as seat posts, stems, bottom bracket cups, and chrome parts, must be made loose (if stuck) and cleaned, polished, and/or greased.
3. Other more "superficial" parts, that have started to look bad over time, this can be handlebar tape, brake hoods, but also pedals and possibly the wheels, will be replaced.
What size bike should I get?
We have a small calculator that gives you a perfect result.
Do you ship the bikes as well?
Yes with DHL, PostNL or FedEx. The bikes can be shipped worldwide. Please contact me directly for shipping costs. The bikes are safely packaged, with a lot of extra material to prevent scratches.
In some cases, I can personally deliver a bike. But only if it's in the area of Amsterdam or Berlin.
How can I pay?
Through Paypal or Bank transfer.
What do you recommend doing to keep the bike in good condition?
Of course it can happen that a bike gets dirty from driving with bad weather, but it's essential to keep it clean. Start by regularly washing of some of the dirt it gathers. When you notice that the drivetrain ( chain, crank and derailleurs ) is collecting more and dirt, it's time for a proper wash off. Ensure that after cleaning, new oil is applied to the chain. Don't drive with a rusty chain, it will damage all parts beyond repair.
Do you have a physical shop or store?
I currently don't have an offline shop. But we can setup a meeting of course, so you come by and see any of the bikes that are available.
I have a vintage bike that might of interest to you, do you buy also?
In some cases I can buy the bike. Please contact me with details of the bike and your asking price.
Can you also built up a custom bike for me?
Certainly, if you see a frame that you like in my shop or have a frame yourself, I can build it up with components of your choosing. Just send me a message with the ideas that you have and we can work out the details together.
